My Attempt at a Nativity Poem

I found this, having done it some time ago, and I feel that it’s better than I thought at the time. Not exactly inspired, but this is the feeling of Christmas for me. The feasts of the Church are the property of the Church. Inside the Church one does not theorize about feasts, but celebrates them.

Jesus is born; let us do what we can;
Tenderly weave him a garment of song
Now while his mother
New-Wife Mary
Mary unsullied
Wraps him in clothing of Man

Now the whole sky is a vast temple-dome
Stars paint their icons for him on its roof
Now while his creatures:
Shepherds and sheep
Joseph, beloved
Welcome him heartily home
